How to dry your braids quickly without much effort?! Your extension braids have just been installed and dipped. And now it's the long wait of letting them air dry. But you don't have that kind of time! Pulling out your handy hand blow dryer will be a lot of work for your arms, waving that thing back and forth. Why not turn your home into your own mini salon and invest in a hard hat hair dryer? The salons use them and they have them for the everyday consumer home use too. So if you want to relax while you dry your braids, just sit under a hard hat dryer. It's quicker than air drying and will give your arms a much needed break. And of course you can use it for drying other styles as well. So why not grab one and make your life a little easier?! :)
How to grow your hair without doing anything to it?! Leave it alone! You don't always need chemicals, pills or magic tricks to help your hair grow. Using a protective style can help your hair grow. A protective style is a style in which your natural hair is protected from the daily routines of flat ironing, hot curling, coloring, perming, and ect. For example, extension braids, sewin weaves or a simple pony tail allows your hair to rest and thus grows. Simple as that! Go figure :)
How to straighten your natural edges without a perm or burns! We all know that trying to maintain natural hair can be a lot of work. Whether you have a weave or a perm or natural hair, our edges gives us the most problems. No more burning your scalp or your ears trying to get your edges straight! No more resorting to a perm either. And ladies with weaves...your weave is perfectly straight but your edges are not! Try a root straightener (edge pressing stick) that does not burn you and you can get as close to your scalp as you want! This tool hides the heating element inside of a comb barrel that stays cool. It has multiple heat settings and is great on all types of hair. You can use an old style pressing comb or a flat iron for the rest of your hair but for those edges that need a gentler touch, pick up a root straightener (edge pressing stick)! You'll be glad you did :)

Let me share with you how to get the most out of your conditioner. Following the instructions on the back of conditioners are great but let me give you a little tip...Instead of conditioning for the 3 to 5 minutes that most bottles state, leave it on for at least an hour with a plastic bag or shower cap on your head. This method will allow you to "deep condition" the hair and obtain the full results that the product promises.
So you just washed your hair and already a few days later your scalp is starting to get flaky. You want to oil your scalp, but don't want to put anything on it that will weigh it down. I grew up using that really oily pressing hair grease or the petroleum based hair grease to oil my scalp and it always looked oily or didn't move because of the weight of the grease. Those were the days of old because now I have discovered a product made by "Carols Daughter" called "Hair Balm". It is light weight, non greasy and non oily. The bottle says to use sparingly and rightfully so! A little goes a loooooong way! Use just a tiny touch of it to moisturize each section of your scalp. This can also be used directly on the hair to strengthen it and give it shine while keeping it's manageability. It also cuts down on frizz. Do this every 2 to 3 days in between washes and your scalp should stay moisturized!
The curling wand is a great tool! But what if you don't have one and want to achieve the same look? Everyone has an old faithful curling iron with the mouth clamp right? Just take your curling iron and with the mouth part closed, wrap your hair around the barrel, hold for a few seconds and voila!...You have achieved wand curls without the wand!
You want to try a new hairstyle but are afraid, because the change can be permanent. If you are someone who likes to change your style often, think about purchasing a hair mannequin. This way you can try the new hairstyle without ever touching your own hair! Make sure you get one with human hair so that you can color the hair, curl or straighten the hair and wash it. With these mannequins you can try cornrows or extension braids on them. You can sew in a weave or even bond in a weave. Just remember, if you cut the hair, it won't grow back like "real" human hair! Also make sure you try and match the texture of your hair as close as you can to the mannequins'. The investment for one of these mannequins range from $30 to $150. They are the same ones that are used in cosmetology schools but can be used for home use too. I ordered mine from Amazon.com and Love It!
